Le grand, le seule, l'unique.... Charles Aznavour!
Que dire de plus, d'un homme avec un répertoire aussi garni, qui malgré son age avancé de 90ans, peux encore interpreter ces plus gros hits en 5 langues différentes, et livrer a son publique, rien de moin que 23 chansons lors de son passage a Montreal.  (10 de plus que Enrique Iglesias la veille).  Bravo!

In front of close to 10,000 adoring fans, these sexy & energetic performers gave their all on stage, singing a great repertoire of their respective classics, as well as newer material.  If I judge by the reaction of the women in the crowd, it was a hot & pleasant time to be had by all.

Challenge Sprint Pro!

Ville de Quebec - 11 Septembre 2014

Le Canadien Cody Canning a remporté jeudi le Challenge Sprint Pro, une épreuve de vitesse d'un kilomètre tenue en prélude au Grand Prix cycliste de Québec. 

Canning, de l'équipe canadienne, a surpris ses adversaires dans les derniers 200 mètres, coiffant le Français Bryan Coquart (Europcar), vainqueur de l'édition 2013, et l'Australien Steele Von Hoff (Garmin Sharp). Un autre Canadien, Eliott Doyle (Équipe Canada) a pris le quatrième rang du tour final. 

Âgé de 26 ans, Canning n'a pas laissé échapper la chance qui s'est présentée à lui après avoir négocié l'épingle du faux plat de la Grande-Allée. 

« Je ne savais pas vraiment comment aborder la course au départ, si je devais pousser ou venir de l'arrière. J'ai vu les gars hésiter et attendre que l'un de nous s'échappe et je me suis dit: c'est maintenant ou jamais », a expliqué le coureur originaire d'Edmonton après être monté sur la plus haute marche du podium. 

« Je n'avais pas vraiment de pression et c'est sûr que ça aide, j'ai simplement fait ma course », a ajouté l'athlète amateur. Canning est venu à Québec exclusivement pour participer au Challenge et ne sera pas du départ du Grand Prix, vendredi.

NBA Cares - Court refurbish Press Conference & Inauguration

September 10th 2014 - Boys & Girls Club of Lasalle

As the custom has been going of for the last several years, the NBA continues to put smiles on kids faces, as this year, the NBA Cares program completely refurbished the basketball courts at the Boys & Girls Club in Lasalle.

In conjunction with the press conference and inauguration, a fit clinic was held for the young ones, with no other than NBA player Samuel Dalembert of the New York Knicks!

PGA - Champions Tour

Golf La Tempête, Lévis, Québec
September 5th-7th 2014

We had the privilege of shooting the final round of the PGA Champions tour at the Golf La Tempete in Levis, Que., and what an amazing round of golf it was!  No one saw it coming, as Mr. Wes Short Jr. completed the last three holes with a birdie, birdie and an eagle, overtaking the leader by a single stroke.

C'est dans le cadre de la série de courses de l'ACHA 2014, que ce déoulais les courses de Beauharnois, le 6-7 Septembre 2014.   Ayant déja un engagement pour Dimanche le 7, nous pouvions qu'etre  présent pour le samedi 6, et ce malgré les conditions moin qu'idéale, avec le temps gris, orageux et la pluie abondante.

Les Opéras Equestres - Ecurie Le Haras Lauretien

Un plaisir visuel et auditif, qui sera plaire a toute la famille!  En plus d'etre composé de ces merveilleuses betes chevalines de type Frisons, Gitan & autres, le spectacle est aussi composé de pieces théatrale, d'acrobaties, jongleurs, cracheur de feu, cirque (suspension en captifs),  d'équestre technique et de haute voltige, de comédie, danse, ainsi que et de chant.

International de Montgolfières de Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu (Envolées)

9-17 Aout 2014

C'est sur le site de l'aeroport de Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, qui ce deroule la 31ieme edition du Festival International de Montgolfières.  Plus de 125 Montgolfieres, 18 spectacles sur la scene Loto-Quebec, ainsi que le plus grand parc gonflable au monde.  A l'année prochaine tout le monde!

Rogers Cup 2014 (Womens Tennis)

We had the chance to shoot a match opposing Serena Williams and her younger sister Venus, during the semi-final match in Montreal.  Venus delivered a strong performance & her sister 6-7 (2), 6-2 & 6-3.

We had the chance to shoot a match opposing Francoise Abanda (the youngest player in the tournament), versus Dominika Cibulkova.  The rookie gave her opponent a good run for her money, and even though she had the additional support from the crowd, couldn't defeat the veteran.

Friday July 25th 2014 - Bell Center

I'm quiet sure the concert was good (I didn't get to stay after the accredited first three songs), but photography wise, this has had to be in my top 5 of worst experiences, (of all time), since my debut in concert photography, 2006.  Not because of poor light, even though it was far than perfect, nor was it because he didn't come near us once during the 3-song stint, but mainly... because of the conditions we were subjected too.  Let me explain...

We were instructed by management that we'd be shooting from the pit.  But, because the venue was completely sold out, the pit was reduced (moved forward, and we were jammed up against the stage.  The problem, is that not only were we limited to the left side of the stage, but the later was more than 7' high!  Don't get me wrong, I'm not one of those photographers, that thinks that because I work for a venue, that everything should be made easy for us.  I enjoy a good challenge, but would rather it be of a technical nature, instead of it being logistics related.

That being said, I consider this as being a bad judgement call, on the bands management part, as the logical thing would have been to place photo/video personnel at the soundboard with telephoto lenses.  Goes to show you, no matter how big you get in life, you may still end up having incompetent idiots working for you. ;)

This was one of these times, that you grabbed what you could, not what you wanted, nothing short of jumping up in the air, holding a fisheye lens, at arms length, and hope for the best.

The Bell Center was at full capacity, as adoring fans came to greet their idol.  Visuals were plentiful, as Katy changed from one colorful, comic, and light-up costume to the next, and let's not forget, the aerials and inflatable props!

Marie-Mai, Premiere du Film "Traverser le Miroir"

7 Juin 2014 - Marché Centrale
C'est dans 3 salles comble du cinéma Guzzo que Marie-Mai a fait apparution sur le grand écran, lors de la premiere présentation du film de "Traverser le Miroir". Apres le tapis rouge, Marie-Mai c'est addressé a la foule dans chacune des trois salles, ou elle auras la surprise d'etre remis un disque d'or pour plus de 40,000 disques vendu de son dernier album "M".

A noter que le film sera présenter dans plus de 50 salles a travers le Quebec.

GOT INK!?

In 2013, we initiated the "GOT INK?" photo tattoo project, to demystify the illusion that ink or "tats" were dedicated towards certain type of people.  

As such, we had the idea of photographing a total of 100 people with as many different occupations as possible.  From "bad-ass" Bikers, to Priests, and everything in between!  The idea is simple... to showcase the fact that nowadays, some people use their bodies as a canvas to show who they are, and that "Ink" can be for everyone.
