After having tested the pre-production model back in February, we were told that SNAPePHOTO has taken possession of Canada's first delivered Canon 1Dx MKII unit.

We were nothing less than impressed of our tests this winter (review HERE).

All of our ordered units have arrived, and we can't wait to put them through various projects, and show you the results from the new era.

Conference de Presse du Triathlon International de Montreal...

C'est a l'Hotel de Ville de Montreal qu'a eu lieu la conférence de presse et l'annonce officiel du Triathlon International de Montreal, qui ce déroulera le 7 Aout 2016 dans le Vieux Montreal.

Les spectateurs aurons ainsi l'opportunitée de supporter nos élites Canadiens qui espere faire les Jeux Olypique dans cette décipline.  En moyenne, les coureurs de calibre élite terminent un triathlon de distance sprint (750 m de natation, 20 km de vélo et 5 km de course à pied) en 52 minutes. À titre comparatif, les amateurs complètent l’épreuve en 1h20 en moyenne.

A noter que cette course es ouverte a tout participant, sans prérequis ou qualifications.

L'évennement GM au Centre Bell...

GM a tenu son évennement de remerciement au concessionaires, au Centre Bell. Ils on accueillis plus de 3,500 employéss et leurs familles, a profiter de l'occaision de patiner sur la glace de nos glorieux.  

De l'animation de tout genre, incluant des reptile exotique, Ironman, Olaf, la fée des neige (Elsa), des stations de maquillage, de tattoo temporaire, de coloriage, des jeux gonflables, ainsi que le repas fourni a tous.

Entre les sessions de patinage libre, les All-Stars de GM on affronté les joueurs des Anciens Canadiens, dans un match de hockey des plus amicale.

Une journée que plusieurs vont ce souvenirs tres longtemps.

Indoor Aerial shoot...

We were asked to conduct aerial video footage of some industrial equipment, in an aviation components company, using our Inspire 1 drone.

The challenge with this mandate, aside from GPS Lock mode being turned off indoors, was the tight spaces and the place being surrounded in metal structures, creating transmittal shields for the signal.

Nonetheless, a great job by our pilot, and video footage should be seen shortly.

Major League Baseball (MLB)...

The ritual continues, as Montreal plays host to back-to-back pre-season games at the Olympic Stadium, between the Toronto Blue Jays, and this year... the Boston Red Sox.

More than 100,000 fans passed through the gates that weekend, proving once again how Montreal is a baseball town, and that our Expos are greatly missed, still.

Elvis Experience...

March 16th-27th 2016  |  St-Denis Theatre

After three seasons at the Théâtre Capitole in Quebec City, and some remarkable performances in Paris and Las Vegas, Elvis Experience will be presented for the first time in Montreal. This great production faithfully recreates an Elvis Presley show from the 70s, a time when Elvis himself was living some of his greatest moment of glory in Las Vegas.

With Elvis Experience, presented almost 200 times throughout the world, Martin Fontaine and the 32 musicians and backup singers that support him have been acclaimed by almost 200 000 people, including Mrs. Priscilla Presley herself, who has been won over by the show.

Show Harley 2016...

19th - 20th February 2016  |  Verdun Auditorium

This year, the Show Harley went back to it's original roots, and played a smaller venue, on 2 different dates.  This created a much better atmosphere, and enable the event organizers to cater to a sell-out crowd.

The new & tricked-out 2016 Harley-Davidson motorcycles were presented from each Quebec dealer. In addition to dancers, eye-catching models, Francisco Randez as the presenter, and of course, a long list of local artists... Eric Lapointe, Marjo, Rosa, Lulu Hughes, Jonas, Jim Zeller, Breen Leboeuf, Fred Lebel & Bryan Tyler.  And let's not forget, the burnouts by Show Producer, Mr. Richard Gref, to conclude a perfect evening.

A special treat was witnessed by the crowd on Friday, as the Davidson family (Willie, Bill & Karen) were there for the entire event.  Judging by their comments on stage, they appreciated the show as much as the ticket-holders did. 

The venue opened @ 1:00pm (exhibit), and the show started @ 8:30pm.

Raffy...

Samedi le 27 Fevrier 2016  |  Place des Arts (Salle Claude-Léveillé)

Raffy, cette musicienne multi-diciplinaire, a la voix qui nous rappel le style de Gwen Stephani du temps de l'album Tragic Kingdom (No Doubt), a joué l'itégrale de son album "Liberer L'Animal" devant une salle comble, ainsi que quelques chansons en boni.

Raffy et son band ont sus garder la foule électrifié du début a la fin, ou elle a ensuite rejoind ces fans a l'exterieur de la salle, pour une scéance d'authographes et photos.

Une belle surprise es survenu apres l'enterpretation de la troisieme chanson, lorsqu'un représentation de la SOCAN, es venu sur scene offrir une plaque au membres du groupe, en hommage de leurs chanson "Dérive", qui a été #1 pendant 3 semaines consécutives dans le top radio correspondant, en Octobre 2015.

Luke Bryan

This was one of those night that was revealing for me.  For one, I didn't realize country music so popular in the Montreal area.  Luke Bryan play to a dynamic sell-out crown of 17,300 adoring fans, that seemed to know every word of every song!

We were unfortunately placed amoungst the crowd to shoot, which is rarely a good vantage point. Still, we do our best to capture a few good stills, while arms are in the air with cell phones doping their best to get that iphone pic/video, which in most cases, probably never get seen again. ;)

Check out one of the shots, as Luke Bryan is standing at the edge of stage, and the fan is litterally 2' away from the artist, and his eyes are where?.... on his phone!?!

We've tested the Canon 1Dx MKII...

We had the privilege of handling a pre-production model of Canon's new flagship camera body, the 1Dx MKII.  Because the unit was not a production model, we agreed not to share any of the files taken with this specific camera body.

Although we were limited to a short session, we were impressed with the new features and improvements made from the current 1Dx model. We're glad to share our impressions, the list of new features & improvements, plus every detail surrounding the specifications of this unit.
