For decades, Susan documented the artists, the crowds, the chaos, the emotion, and those fleeting moments that disappear the second the lights go down. Her work for evenko, Osheaga and countless Montréal venues and publications helped create a visual history of the city’s live-music culture.
But perhaps her greatest legacy isn't the impressive list of artists she photographed or the tens of thousands of images she left behind. It is the people she inspired and encouraged along the way.
Susan had an eye for the moment—but she also had a genuine love for the music and the people who made it. That came through in her photographs.
Montréal has lost one of its great musical storytellers. The photo pits will be a little emptier, the stages a little darker, and the community a little quieter without her. Cancer Sucks!!
