The first lady of the United States from 2009 to 2017 was candid, humorous and sentimental with the crowd on Friday as part of the tour for her best-selling memoir, Becoming.
The evening was moderated by Valerie Jarrett, a former senior adviser to Barack Obama and Michelle’s former boss in Chicago. Jarrett read several questions sent in by Twitter and had some of her own questions as well.
Montreal was the 30th event of the book tour. Becoming, released last November, became the best-selling book of 2018. Now, with more than 10 million copies sold, it is said to be one of the best-selling memoirs of all time. The Montreal event was the largest so far in the tour, Jarrett announced.
Our mandate was multi-faceted, as we covered the Meet & Greet (128 guests photographed in front of a backdrop with Michelle Obama), the VIP party, as well as the first 10 minutes of the representation with the audience.
